Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker writer, syndicated columnist, TV personality, author and author. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran later left the business. One of the original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank to date. As of February 2020 she had completed 53 deals. The most significant of these was a $350,000 investment in Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children from a working class Irish Catholic family. Florence was her mother. She was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran's childhood. Her family often relied on free delivery of food from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father as an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with contempt and disrespect, especially when he had been drinking. Corcoran struggled in school and later learned that she was dyslexic. She went to an area Catholic elementary school, and then began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite having failed several classes during her first year of high school.               Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. The largest was a $350,000 investment that will cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's career. Her family often relied on the free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father as one who often was a drinker and did her mother a disservice and sneer, especially after he'd consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education and later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at a Catholic primary school within her area and started high school at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran dropped several classes during her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
